Lady Gaga reveals she suffered persecution in work place. “A Star is Born” actress, Lady Gaga reveals that she was constantly bullied and harassed back when she entered the world of music and says this type of behaviour was the norm and accepted by the heads of the profession.

The talented “Born This Way” singer who has successfully switched her role from singer to actress has admitted that being intimidated in the recording studio by work colleagues was a common practice.

The 32-year old, New York singer, previously revealed that she suffered from “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” (PTSD) after she was raped when only 19 years old.

Gaga who has sold millions of albums worldwide has also revealed that when she did complain about harassment in work place which was the recording studio, no one wanted or was prepared to listen in fear that they themselves would be penalised and would maybe lose their own job.

In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (AKA) Lady Gaga revealed this as part of her conversation with Australian actress, Nicole Kidman, Actress, Glenn Close, Rachel Weisz and Kathryn Hahn who took part in the Hollywood Reporter’s “Actress Roundtable” get together.

Gaga is hopeful that talks like this with fellow actresses will lead to better working conditions for women in the industry and that by uniting together they can change the way in which women in the music and film industry are perceived and treated.

Gaga said: “When I started in the music business when I was around 19, it was the rule, not the exception, that you would walk into a recording studio and be harassed. It was just the way that it was. “So I do wish that I had spoken up sooner. I did speak up about it. I was assaulted when I was young, and I told people. “And, you know, there was a ‘boys club.’ Nobody wants to lose their power, so they don’t protect you because if they say something, it takes some of their power away.”

The “Shallow” singer is now hoping that issues like gender pay-gaps and other issues surrounding equal rights will be more openly talked about and accepted, regardless of gender or a person’s sexuality.

Lady Gaga concluded: “What I hope is that these conversations come together that it’s not just about equal pay on one side … or equal billing over here and then assault on this side. But that it all comes together and that this movement is all of those things.”

The talented singer who has sold over 27 million albums worldwide, is also appreciative of the public response to her acting talents in the hit movie “A Star is Born” where she played the part of “Ally” alongside the talented actor, Bradley Cooper who played seasoned musician Jackson Maine who comes to the rescue of struggling actress.
