Jennifer Lawrence almost missed out on Oscar-winning role

The 28-year-old celebrity won the 2012 Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Tiffany in the comedic drama, however the flick’s director David O Russell has revealed she almost didn’t end up landing the work, as they felt she was too young for the part as well as the fact they had other actresses higher up on their list.

The admission was made throughout a panel at the Tribeca Film Festival, where Jennifer, in her early 20s when the movie was filmed, reacted: “What’s up with that?”

David explained: “We assumed you were too young, as well as there were other starlets in front of the line near obtaining the function.”

To which she giggled: “Wow, fine!”

David added: “Like a pass that covers 90 yards, you just changed the game.”

On the other hand, it was just recently announced that Jennifer is set to make her long-awaited return to the world of film when she stars as a war veteran in an as-yet-untitled movie.

The award-winner has signed up with well-known theatre director Lila Neugebauer, and will certainly play the role of a United States solider who suffers a brain injury in Afghanistan.
