H&M launch Kate Middleton Replica Wedding Dress. If you are planning on getting married in the near future and looking for that Kate Middleton wedding dress effect, then your luck is in.
As the whole world watched on back in 2011 when the Kate Middleton married the future King of England, Prince William, the Princess in waiting turned up to the church in what can only be described as a magnificent piece of fashion that was a custom-made lace and satin gown designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen.
Kate’s ivory gown featured a satin bodice, which was slightly padded at the hips and incorporated floral motifs cut from machine-made lace. It left all want-to-be brides dreaming of one day wearing the same dress for their own special day, but knowing that it would be beyond the budget that most brides today could afford.
Well now their dreams could become reality as Swedish fashion retailer, H&M have just announced that they are launching new affordable wedding dresses based on the same design as that dress worn by the now titled “The Duchess of Cambridge.”
In comparison to the €300,000 that is estimated it cost to put Kate’s dress together, H&M’s High Street versions are only a fraction of the cost and will only set any bride-to-be a mere €149.00 ( €170.00)
The H&M dress version is a long dress with a bodice in lace and skirt in an airy weave. It’s design features include a scalloped V-neck with support panels at the top, an opening with a covered button at the back of the neck and a concealed zip at the back.
It has a long-sleeves finish with scalloped trims, a seam at the waist with a grosgrain band, and a gently flared skirt which is lined. It’s a significant saving from the one that the royal household paid-for, but the effect of the dress will be similar and make any bride-to-be feel special on her wedding day at a fraction of the cost .
