The most Googled fashion searches for 2018. In a year that saw the sad departing of French fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy (91) and British Fashion model Stacey Young (52) who was wife of singer Paul Young, we take a look at the most searched items for fashion searched on the Google search engine for 2018 and the results may surprise you.

The survey that was put together by Fashion Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar gives a definite guide the most Googled fashion searches for 2018.

The obvious people who appear in the top listing are Meghan Markle, now The Duchess of Sussex who married Prince Harry back in May of 2018.

Also there is Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge, who is a real hit with all fashionistas across the world. As we all know, fashion is big business with lots of fashion brands and labels seeing a huge increase in demand for new lines and styles from the male audience which is reflected in this year’s results.

So, let’s take a look at who and what featured in the top fashion searches on Google for 2018.

9 Kate Middleton

Even though she is now the officially known as the Duchess of Cambridge, people still refer to this fashion icon as her original name before she married Prince Phillip.

8 Hipster Style

It’s always been a common word phrase between fashion followers from the 90’s and upwards who like to stay hip with their fashion looks.

7 Harajuku Fashion

Harajuku fashion got its name from a district in Tokyo around 20 years ago. While it’s an ever-evolving aesthetic, it’s still rooted largely in a girly-glam look that street style photographers can’t get enough of.

6 Men’s Fashion

This is no surprise really as the demand for men’s fashion is on the increase as they go in search of the latest fashion designs and trends in what now is a really competitive market place.

5 Meghan Markle

No surprise here really given she is one of the most photographed women in the world today and even though her title changed earlier this year to, The Duchess of Sussex, people still refer to her by her old name and are looking to see her latest choices of fashion.

4 2000s Style

Bit of surprise this one, but with the revival of boot-cut jeans and low-rise jeans endorsed by the likes of fashion models and celebrities of the day, Bella Hadid and The Kardashian family, it had to be in there somewhere.

3 1990s style

The “noughties” was a great time for fashion. With a lot of music bands like Back Street Boys, Nsync, Madonna and other girl artists going back on the road, it’s no surprise that lots of people are reliving their past for fashion ideas that influenced their dress back then.

2 Grunge style

Is seems to be a trend now that people are looking to relive their fashion youth as we head back to the time of the 80’s when Grunge music has a major influence on people’s styling. Floral power and oversize T-Shirts displaying the names of pop or rock groups was the “in thing” and this is evident today amongst the younger generation trying to relive the fashion of great days gone by.

Ah the 80’s!! What a fantastic time for fashion and music. Madonna, the introduction of the world “Supermodel” , Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Wham. Big shoulder pads, bright florescent colours, combat trousers, white T-shirts and the list goes on. They were great times and with parents telling their children about their own fashion preferences “back in the day” is it any wonder that the excitement of 80’s fashion is now making a major comeback!
