Miss Mexico crowned Miss World 2018

Miss Mexico crowned Miss World 2018. She stunning and beautiful and she also gave up her fashion modelling work to concentrate in raising money for charity.

The hard efforts of helping others came back to reward Vanessa Ponce de Leon who is the newly crowned Miss World.

The 26-year old beauty from Mexico was crowned the 68th Miss World since the contest began back in 1957. The intelligent academic who some critics say is not what you would normally associate with a typical Miss World winner, as she boasts a degree in international business and is also a leading volunteer for charity Migrantes en el Camino as well as sitting on the board of directors of a rehab centre for girls.

Vanessa Ponce de Leon was crowned Miss World at the 68th ceremony that this year was held in China. Vanessa received her Miss World crown by last year’s winner, Manushi Chhillar from India, The glamorous pageant took place Sanya, China last Saturday night 8th December 2018 with 80’s band Sister Sledge providing the entertainment on the night.

After her victory, Vanessa said: “I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it… And I think all the girls deserved it. I am proud to represent all of them. “I will do as much as I can in the time I have got. Thank you so much, everyone.”

This is the first time that anyone from Mexico has won this award. The first ever winner of Miss World was Kiki Hakansson from Sweden back in 1951 with Rosanna Davison wining it for Ireland back in 2003.

Vanessa beat 117 other contestants on the night including runner up Miss Thailand, Nicolene Limsnukan and also Miss Uganda contestant, Quiin Abenakyo who came in third.
