Jane Danson faints during Dancing On Ice rehearsal. Coronation Street star Jane Danson had to be stretchered off the ice after fainting during rehearsals for Dancing On Ice yesterday.

The actress collapsed in staking partner’s Sylvain Longchambon’s arms before medical staff rushed onto the ice to check on her.

Speaking afterwards, Sylvain said: “As we landed she just completely fainted. She’s still having medical checks at the moment. I hope everything is going to be okay.”

The star was semi-conscious as she was lifted onto an orange spinal board before being carried off the ice.

After giving a sensational performance, Jane said: “I didn’t see it coming. I’ve been feeling bit tired the last few days. I’ve myself too far and it’s caught up with me.

“Sylvain has been great and the team have really helped me.”

Her husband, Robert Beck was seen crying in the audience as he applauded his wife.

Jayne Torvill praised the Corrie star for ‘not overthinking it’ and for putting in a confident routine.

Judge Ashley Banjo said: “”I have so much respect for you as a performer. To come out here and perform like that when the time before that happened. It took so much guts.”

Dancing On Ice fans flocked to Twitter to praise Jane for her performance.

One wrote: “Oh Jane did so well to say she still isn’t well and to come out still skating it was good but did you see her husband crying in the audience bless him”

While another added: “Very emotional tonight & seeing Jane skate tonight & then her lovely husband weeping. Gosh. Really proud of you Jane.”

An ITV spokesperson said: “Jane fainted earlier today on the ice during a rehearsal for this evening’s live show.

“She has been assessed by show medics and is now resting ahead of the performance.
