But it’s more than just the clothes. The Blank Panther actress always comes with some incredible hair creation at the hands of Vernon Francois, and flawless makeup, thanks to her go-to makeup artist Nick Barose.

Whether it’s smoky and sultry, bright and colourful or nice and neutral, there’s always something interesting and innovative about Lupita’s look.

And if there’s one night to really turn everything out, it’s the Oscars. And this year’s look didn’t disappoint.

The Micaela Erlanger-styled actress wore a gorgeous white feathered gown from the Oscar de la Renta fall 2019 collection, with her hair sweeped up in a sculptural updo, with a beaded fringe decorating the back.

And of course, the Lancome ambassador’s makeup was stunning, with the star rocking a metallic eye look, complete with a glossy, berry lip.

And her makeup artist, Nick Barose, has been speaking to Allure about how to get Lupita’s beautiful makeup look.
For the base, Barose started with Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation, Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage High Coverage Concealer and the Teint Idol Ultra Custom Highlighting Drops to make Lupita’s skin lok glowy and natural.

Barose exclusively told Allure: “The liquid formula blends like second skin. Use a damp Juno Micro Velvet sponge to apply and blend by gently pressing and tapping — this way, it will last all night.”

And if you’re wondering how Barose managed to get Lupita’s eyes to look so metallic, the makeup artist used Lancôme Color Design eye shadow palette in Sparkling Intoxication, explaining: “The key is to use various colors and textures and blend with a brush to make the eye look portray liquid metal. Use [a damp] Juno Micro Velvet sponge to gently blend all the metallic shades together.”

Lashes and Lancome’s Drama Matte Lipstick in Berry Intense finished the look.

And there you have it, another incredible look from Queen of the Red Carpet, Lupita Nyong’o.
