You could be Miss Universe Ireland 2018. Do you have what it takes to become the next Miss Universe Ireland 2018?

Well you need to get your skates on as registration for this glamorous event is coming to a close. All applications need to in no later than 22nd June 2018. This year’s event is brought to you by Eleven Australia Hair care, with the title currently being held by reigning champion, Cailin Toibín from Cork.

Director of Miss Universe Ireland, Brittany Mason – an international model, actress, activist, and businesswoman claims the core objective of Miss Universe Ireland is to cultivate job opportunities and to empower Irish women to become leaders in the community creating positive social change.

When asked what she is looking for in a Miss Universe Ireland representative, Mason replied, ’What we want is a leader that will serve as a voice for the nation and the ideals of the modern day Irish woman. Not only will she represent our fashion and beauty sponsors but she will be an advocate for our charitable partners. She must have a clear understanding of the job and be committed to the integrity of the Miss Universe brand. She will serve as a goodwill Ambassador for Ireland celebrating our culture on a global level and empowering women in leadership to become more socially active in Irish communities.’

Successful female applicants for the 2018 competition must be – among other requirements -aged between the age of 18 and 28 years old (since 1st January 2018) and hold a valid Irish passport.

Last year’s Irish winner, Cailin Toibín made Top 4 in Europe and the final 16 at Miss Universe 2017. She is the 8th Irish woman in history to make it to finals at Miss Universe and the very first since Roz Purcell in 2010. Walking away with almost €40,000 worth of prizes as Miss Universe Ireland, Cailin won the title at a record breaking sold out show with 600 attendees and thousands watching on Facebook LIVE at the Round Room at The Mansion House.

She travelled as Miss Universe Ireland more than any other representative with  her often appearing as an ambassador for Ireland at event such as the Toronto Film Festival or advocating for charities including Pieta House.

The final for Miss Universe Ireland will take place on 2nd August 2018 in the Round Room at the Mansion House, Dublin with James Patrice once again acting as Master of Ceremonies on the night.
