Irish model defies the odds to cover Men’s Health Magazine

Irish model defies the odds to cover Men’s Health Magazine.A male model, from Co Clare who was told his modelling career was over has defied all the odds to make it to the cover of leading health magazine, Men’s Health.

Peter Barron from Shannon, Co Clare has proved medical critics wrong as the 28-year old was chosen to appear on the latest front cover of the men’s health magazine for the Dubai edition.

The fitness instructor underwent surgery 8 years ago to have a lump removed from his chest and was jokingly told by a nurse at the time that due to the procedure, his days as a model were over.

Speaking to Health Magazine, Peter said: “I had a lump in my chest and it was something I was concerned with. And I just said to myself, ‘look, get it done, I’ll get it removed, I don’t care if there’s a scar’. “The woman that did it was actually a very nice woman, it was just after the surgery and there was a mark on my chest where the incision had been and I said to her, ‘oh my god, is this going to heal ok?’ and she said, ‘it’s going to heal perfectly’.

The Clare native moved to Dubai over 3 years ago where he has continued as a personal instructor and also gone on to be a key social media influencer.

The Irish, fitness conscious hunk has already appeared in the leading men’s health mag before as he worked on a fashion campaign for tech giant, Samsung in 2017.

As luck will have it, 2 months ago he was contacted by the magazine’s editor and asked if he would like to do more work with the mag and he jumped at the chance.

Delighted at the opportunity, he is now making headlines as he appears on the front cover of the September edition of the health magazine in Dubai.

Talking about his new-found fame, the tattooed hunk explains “It’s in the Dubai culture that they don’t have tattoos whereas for me, I’m covered in tattoos all over my body, on my chest and my arms. “When I saw it first, I actually didn’t realise they had cropped the tattoos out. It’s brilliant though, it’s an amazing feeling to see it in the shops.”

The aspiring Clare man has more major fashion work in the pipeline and it only only proves that with determination, you can achieve your dreams and goals!
