Fashion label Fecal Matter take foot fashion to new level

Fashion label Fecal Matter take foot fashion to new level. Feet fashion as just taken on a whole new look and meaning as Fashion label Fecal Matter unveil their thigh high boots designs that look like human skin.

As Halloween approaches fashion label, Fecal Matter has revealed their latest creation which are thigh-high heeled boots complete with individual toes, fleshy heels and a couple of satanic horns for good measures that wouldn’t look out of place in characters in the movie Alien. The only part of their new boot that doesn’t look like an extension of a human leg is it’s plastic platform underneath the ball of the foot.

The freaky footwear designs are the brainchild of designers Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran. The pair are known for their freaky fashion looks and designs and posted photos of their skin coloured shoes on their Instagram page earlier this year as a teaser for their fans who thought their new footwear looks where a result of their clever Photoshop skills.

However, this has turned out not to be the case thanks to some pretty impressive prosthetic skills. Speaking to on-line fashion magazine, Vogue, Bhaskaran said : “We can get this alien look and present it and tweak it with Photoshop and make it look really realistic.“ But at the same time, there is always this dysphoria in us. There is this urge inside of us to take what we do on the Internet and try to create that via real life. That is what we are doing with the shoes.”

According to The Sun newspaper, Fecal Matters own philosophy behind their footwear designs are they believe their fantasy fashion designs reflect what they think humans will eventually look like in this era of body modification, social media and technological advances.

Each part of the shoes was made from silicon shaped and moulded so that it matched Dalton’s leg – even down to the colour, moles, dents, the arch of the foot and hair.

Fecal Matter’s took on the help of artist Sarah Sitkin who specialises in creating replica bodies and body parts and has described the making of the “couture” shoe as being like “going to Chanel to get a wedding dress”.

Hannah Rose Dalton said: “You get the fittings and the customisations. For even me to get the shoe, I have to stand and each of my legs have to be perfectly moulded.” These shoes don’t come cheap though as the starting cost of their design footwear starts at €8,500
