Kym Marsh to become grandmother at aged 42. Coronation Street actress, Kym Marsh is to become a Grandmother at the age of 42 with her daughter Emilie expecting a baby with her boyfriend of six-months.

Kym who plays the lovable, Michelle O’Connor in Britain’s favourite soap, Coronation Street, is delighted with the news as she posed with her daughter for the December edition of OK magazine.

Kym said: “We’re over the moon. It makes me feel so emotional that my baby is having a baby of her own. “I’ve always looked forward to having grandchildren. Although I’m not relishing being called Grandma, so I’ve been researching alternative names.”

Kym first shot to fame back in 2000 as part of the music group “Hear’Say” with the group winning the ITV talent show “Popstars” She was one of the five singers chosen for the newly formed band and stared alongside bandmates, Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan.

Marsh made her debut in Coronation Street back in April 2006. Kym, who recently started dating Army officer Scott Ratcliffe, was just 18 when she gave birth to her first child David now aged 23 years and she is also mother to her other daughter Polly aged 7 years.

On her daughters pregnancy, Kim said “I know what it’s like to be young and pregnant – it’s scary, but Emilie will be a great mum.“I’ve warned her that it’s going to be hard work but I’ve also said there are a lot of positives to being a young mum.” Marsh is back in love again as is currently dating Army officer Scott Ratcliffe.
